I am the 11th generation of Gov. Robert Treat. We have a Treat geneology. Gov. Treat was commonly said to have had twenty-one children, but there is no foundation whatever for this statement. The mistake probably arose from counting the children of his son and grandson Robert as his. In his will dated Jan 5, 1707, he mentions only seven, Samunel, John,Mary,Robert, Hannah, Joseph and Abigail. He had a daughter Sarah, born 10/9/1656 who died in infancy. My brother has the book and I have a few copies of certain pages that relate to us. We are related to Rev. Samuel Treat, Joseph Treat, Capt. John Treat,Capt. Samuel Treat, Lucius Junius Brutus Treat and his daughter,Amanda Treat, Lucy Marie Lane, daughter of Amanda Treat who married Benjamin Turner Lane. Lucy Marie Lane married George W.Simpson. They had three children Isabel Treat, Bertha Jane and Walter Raymond Simpson, my grandfather. I am very interested in this side of the Treat Family. We have some funiture that came out of the governer's mansion. Highboy etc. My wife and I would like to find out more. Thanks Carl & Glenda Simpson
