To Luke Kenyon: You can learn quite a lot about Governor Treat from the article about him on pp. 633-334 of the Dictionary of American Biography, Vol. IX. Any genealogical library would have this series, and Governor Robert Treat was famous enough to be in it. There also is good information about him--more along genealogical lines--in the books "History of the Colony of New Haven" by Edward R. Lambert, and "Families of Early Milford, Connecticut," compiled by Susan Woodruff Abbott. And if you can get there, his gravestone in Milford, CT, still exists and is very readable, along with a big historical marker dedicated to him. Sue Ellen Fealko
