I have a Nancy Emiline Treat(married name) that married a John Clark Crosson in Phelps Co.,MO on Feb.7,1869. The only other record I have of Nancy is her listing on the 1880 Phelps Co. census listing her as:
Nancy Crosson,44yrs.,TN,TN,TN(b.1835-1836)
then listing her children from her previous marriage as:
Louisa Treat,18yrs.,AR,IN,TN daughter(b.1861-1862)
Thomas Treat,17yrs.,AR,IN,TN son(b.1862-1863)
John Treat,15yrs.,AR,IN,TN son(b.1864-1865)
then her daughter from the Crosson marriage:
Sophia Crosson,10yrs.,MO,CN,TN(b.1869-1870)
Apparently the Treat children were born in Arkansas, their father was born in Indiana, while Nancy Emiline was born in Tennessee. From that point on the trail of these Treat children runs cold. There is a Stephen Treat and his family listed on the 1900 Phelps Co. MO. census, and also a Treat cemetery in Phelps Co. where Stephen(whom I understand may be one of Nancy's older children), his wife and some of their children are buried.
Does anyone know what became of Nancy Treat Crosson after 1880? I also need confirmation of what Treat male Nancy was married to. Also need to know what became of Louisa, Thomas and John Treat, and if their were any other Treat siblings that I haven't mentioned. Who were their ancestors and who are their descendants? Please respond by a follow-up posting or e-mail me at
