hello all tremellen and some tremellings
g'day (am trying to cover all of the bases)i was informed by the genealogy.com genforum computer that unless i post a new message on the 'tremellen family genforum' within 5 days, the forum will be deleted to make way for other forums...so this message will serve to keep the forum on-line for a few more months, and to announce (yawn) my new search for my great grandfather, william tremellen..in spite of all the great tremellens (and a few tremellings) who have responded in various sites to my pleadings, no definitive links to my william tremellen have been found.he came to the usa in 1850, a strip of a lad of 14 years old, and i have some of his paper trappings in which his name has been spelled tremelling, tremellon, tremellyn and tremellen.however, in every document that he signed himself, he spelled the name tremellen...the only indications of his cornwall existance are on his death certificate, in which his daughter stated that he was born on 29feb1836, and that his father's name was thomas.....and his obit stated that he had two older brothers, john and richard.....that all that i know.......he did serve in the civil war without being a hero ...i have had several great correspondances from annette tremelling montgomery and from david, her son; and i have received that marvelous genealogical book of the descendants of thomas and jane vian tremellen, who traveled to australia abt 1849 ....jerry tremelling filled me in on my william tremellen family living in wilkes barre, luzerne county, pennsylvania in 1880 thru 1890 or so (his name was spelled tremelling there).since he was born or baptised in 1836, thee was no civil registration of his birth.. someone sent me awilliam tremellen as being born the bastard (i suppose this means that my family crest is unprintable) son of patty in st ewe in 1836... and now that the opc effort of all cornwall parishes is in full bloom, my search might be a bit easier.......another few of you are also trying to find your tremellen/tremelling/etc roots.sharon kay jones has been charting the tremelling name for years, and a few tremellens have crept into her data.you might try contacting her at [email protected] have been chatting with her on-line on the msn instant messaging service, and we would like you to download the easily downloadable program so that you can chat with us...my email address is [email protected] to all of you tremellen/tremellings out there..happy halloween...tom tremellen
