My family on mothers side are the Trevethans of Maker S.E. Cornwall UK. I have traced them back to about 1799. I think they come from Truro before that time, but I have no good evidence. I would be happy to exchange info by e-mail.
William is a popular name, my grandfather and his father were both called William.
