Dear Nora,

At FreeBMD, http://freebmd.rootsweb.com there is an Albert TREVETHAN with a birth registered September quarter 1857 in the Truro registration district in Cornwall. This would mean the birth was registered in July, August or September 1857 but the birth could have occurred in June if the family delayed registering it. So a possibility for you. These certificates can be ordered and the instructions are on that site. You could see if the birthdate is in fact the one you're seeking if you'd want to spend the money.

Another great website is the one with transcribed Cornish censuses at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kayhin/cocp.html

You'll find a 4 year old Albert TREVETHAN in the household of Matthew and Jane TREVETHAN in 1861 Perranzabuloe. This is quite near Truro, Cornwall and in fact events occurring in the parish of Perranzabuloe would be included in the Truro registration district so this is undoubtedly the Albert with the 1857 Truro birth registration.

The question remains as to whether he is the same as yours. At http://www.familysearch.org the 1881 UK census can be searched and this Albert with mother and some siblings is living in Bishop Auckland, Durham and coincidentally there is a Grace Jane SPENCER of the appropriate age in the same location.

Therefore I think it is highly likely that this is the Albert TREVETHAN that you're seeking.

Best wishes,
Karen
