I just saw your note of last year.
I believe our family trees are intertwined....
My great, great grandfather was Charles Robert Trew, son of Robert Trew. His family is supposed to have come also from Abergavenny....he arrived in Southwest PA (Beallsville, then Charleroi) sometime between 1855 (when he was born) and 1878 (when he was naturalized).
I have only just started my research, and only have a few more names behind Charles....
He was the son of Robert Trew and Martha Magdeline Williams (b. 1830, d. 1895), who married in 1851.
Robert Trew was the son of Charles Trew (is it my imagination, or is the range of names in Wales somewhat limited?), b. 1797.Charles married Mary Elizabeth Bruton in 1812 (or 1813).Charles' father's name was Eli Trew, born in 1735.
If "my" Trews are "your" Trews, perhaps we could compare notes, and see what we find?
My email is [email protected]
