Trice's of Color-Orange, Wake, Chatham County, NC

My father was James Thomas Trice, Sr. (birth name Thomas J. Barber). He was born in Wake County, NC. His mother was Heneritta Trice, born 5/13/1894 and his father was Richard Barber. Heneritta's mother was Etta (Heneritta) Trice and her father was Mart Trice. They were from Orange an Chatham County. Mart's brother was white and his name was William. Etta had about 13 brothers and sisters. Etta's father was Sammon Trice and his wife was Nancy Trice. Sammon was a slave owner. My father was raised in Orange County on Mt. Sinai Rd. He often told me the story of how his grandfather donated the land for which the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church was built upon. The original church was later torn down and rebuilt on the land. A great number of Trice's are from this area and some still remain. Any Trice's Black or White, please respond.
