JM TRICE 1887 Aberdeen MS

I have a document with Wesley Adams purchasing land from a JM Trice in Aberdeen, Chickasaw Ms in 1887. My family surname of ADAMS is so common, until it is very, very difficult to connect them to a past. Wesley Adams was a afro american. JM Trice I am assuming was white. I am trying to find any information about Wesley Adams that may be in documents of the TRICE family papers, no matter how small it can be. It may help me find other cousins.
