Hello Nikki

So glad to get your email. I am quite sure we are related. Like I said, my father was raised in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. I am trying to put the pieces of this family history together. My great-grand mother was named Etta (Heneritta) and her husband was Martin (Mart) Trice. Mart Trice's father was Sammon Trice. His wife was Nancy. They had 13 children. Sammon was married 3 times and had a total of 49 children. Sammon was half Indian and black. He was named after his father. The names of our great grand parents are similiar. Etta - Edna and Sammon-Samuel...
I am seriously thinking about taking a genetic test to trace the Trice family. I also think that a good start would be trying to find where the plantation was, slave owner, ect. This info should be in records at the Orange County Court House in Hillsborough. I will keep you informed and please do likewise on any information you find.
