Unfortunately I can't go back any further than what you have. Did you get this info from the IGI familysearch site?
I have nothing about a John Ley. What is Heralds visitation? never heard of it. I have some memoirs of a lady who lived in the mullion area all her life. They were written in the late 19th century the names Shephard,Triggs are mentioned, the Shephards emmigrated to the USA. Can photocopy if you're interested.
Sorry i can't help with Ley. The info that you have re Kempthorne, Hocking etc is correct.
