My family came from in & around Liss Hampshire, not too far from Headley, from the early 1700's to 1900.By the 1850,s most used the spelling without the s.In the 1700's they spelt it Trig, Trigs, Triggs, and Trigg. It can be assumed that there was a carryover from branches to the present day.I could not locate a George around that date, but it was a common given name.
A lot of the family name came from around Rogate, Sussex and Petersfield Hampshire.
If I can be of further help, please contact me.
