Thanks for the reply, I have my g grandfather George Triggs at Merrow, in 1881 and the 1891 Censuses, said he came from Camberley 1891, aged 45 and Petersfield 1881, aged 33, can only assume he moved up to Camberley and then on to Merrow he died in 1904 age 56. I haven't been able to find his marriage to Rose Ricketts yet, thats if they were married (abt 1880). Found the Headley ones which gave me hope as some went up to Camberley and then back to Headley. Assume by these dates that he was born between 1845 and 1849. He had 2 sons, George (granddad) and William who died young and granddad lived till he was 34, he died in the lst World War. We have medals for Granddad Boar War and WW1, but there is one for India which we don't know if its his or his fathers. Will be checking this out soon. Would be interested if there are any Georges about that time in Petersfield, as I haven't been able to get to the PRO in Winchester to check it yet, I haven't been able to find him in London yet either. Should be there but some births were not recorded as I have found out just recently. It did not become law for the parents to record births until 1875. Thanks Irene
