John Randolph Trogdon b. 1833 son of Samuel Trogdon, Jr. was known to his family as Jack. He came to the area on Little River west of what is now Seagrove after his marriage to Amy Lucas in 1855. He was living just over into Montgomery County where he was operating a grist mill the next year when my grandmother was born. Sometime after 1860 he moved back into Randolph County and purchased a farm in the midst of Lucas kin, remaining there until his death in 1926. He and Amy are buried in the Lucas Cemetery on Little River Road west of the US220 interchange at Seagrove.
