Extensive info on solomon trogdon in book, Trogdon Family History published about 1924 by W.F. Trogdon. From North Wilkesboro News, North Wilkesboro, NC July 19, 1894.
Solomon Trogdon was son of William Trogdon (probably emigrated from Ulverstone, England to present day Randolph Co, NC via Marland). Was born at his fathers farm on Sandy Creek 2.5 miles northeast of Fanklinville in present day Randolph Co., NC in 1760. Died May 14, 1826 Bush Creek. Wife was Tabitha (or Tobitha) York born 1765 died 1860. She was I believe daugther of Semore York (born 1726 in England, died 1783 in Randolph Co. NC) and Silvania Aldridge. Tabitha died at home of her daughter Mrs. Anna Odell wife of Jason Odell.
Solomon Trogdon and Tabitha York are I believe buried in the Trodgon Family Cemetery just north of Old Liberty Rd and east of Pugh Dr in Randolph county, NC. They had these children: Anna, Sarah, Dorcas, Samuel, Emslely, William, Ezekiel.
Tremendous amount of info in the references above. William Trogdon also mentioned by his decendent William (Least-Heat Moon) Trogdon in his book Blue Highways a NY times bestseller in the EArly 1980s.
