Soloman TROGDON is the son of William Trogdon born circa 1720 in Maryland (The William Troughton born in 1722 in Ulverston England died at 3 months of age, see link below for source document. William Trogdon born circa 1720 is BELIEVED to be the son of William Trogdon, son of Thomas and Mary Jones Trogdon, born in 1695, as recorded in All Hallows church records, Maryland. William 1695 is THOUGHT to haved died in 1783 in Randolph County, NC, with stories reporting he was killed by the Tories, first by the 1926 book of W.F. Trogdon. No documented proof of this event has been found - and we are still trying to prove it. W.F. erected an elaborate "monument" to William 1783 with an elaborate inscription; unfortunately, the children he named as William's (1783), including Soloman, are NOT the children of William 1783. They are all named in the will of William born 1720 in Maryland, died in 1805, buried in Billy Trogdon Cemetery, just a few miles from Soloman's grave. If you would like photos of Soloman and Tabitha's graves, I would be happy to send you copies. I would be more than happy to put you in touch with some of Soloman's descendents who have done extensive research on him. I just asked the question last night what publication (and I know I read it somewhere) lists Soloman as serving in the Revolution, fighting at the Battle of Guilford Battleground, unfortunately, it seems that the local records dispute that and Soloman's application in DAR has been placed on hold until proof of his participation is proved.
