After I read this message I did some research of my files. I discovered that Eva Klemmer, wife of Hans Michael, was born in 1680 and Adam in 1708. Whoever put up the memorial had to have some reference stones for dates. They chose the 1681 date for Adam because he was the earliest they knew about. I decided that the one (1) in the dates on the memorial was probably the center line of zeros on the reference stones. This would fit Eva as the 1681-1776 date and Adam as the 1718-1798 date. It makes sense that Adam died in 1798 since his extate was not settled until the early 1800s at the same time that his son's, Henry J., was settled. I think it is entirely possible that Eva lived to be 96 years old. She was over 60 when she left those of her eleven children still alive to come to a scary new land to be with just one child. I think she was one tough lady and I am proud to be her descendant.
