Yes, one of the Kidder researchers posted the article on the mailboat drownings -- which is a real step forward.We know who James was -- his wife, Nancy/Ann Berry remarried soon after.But he may have had two children Lydia and William -- and we're not too sure about the details concerning them.
Samuel, on the other hand, could have been any one of three men -- Sam the Loyalist or one of the two younger Sams listed in the 1784 Penob Loyalist Return.
My best guess at present is that Sam was James' brother, and that the elder Sam and his son, Sam, Jr. survived and ended up in Perry.
As for Mrs. Harriet Trott, she interests me a great deal.I've seen the article online and would very much like to know who her husband was.Apparently she was in her fifties when she arrived in NS.so her husband was most likely an older Trott, possibly born as early as 1760.But where does one go to find out such things?
