Beverly, I also am a Troxler from Rockingham
County. My father was Albert Billie Troxler. He died in 1989.I have a book of my father's called The Family Troxler
by Rockie Troxler. He is a cousin from Alamance County. He did extensive research on the Troxler Family. You are right about our family coming from Germany. It seems that Johann Georg Troxler is the progenitor of all the Troxler Family in the counties of Rockingham,Alamance and Guilford in North Carolina. He arrived in New Orleans most probablybetween the years 1719-1721.He was Alsatian from Lichtenurg Germany. The Alsace was a region located on French and Germanb oundaries and just north of Switzerland. He most likely left from a port in France or a Dutch port. After reaching America he lived in a German village in the Lousianna Territory named Hoffen. Barney was the sixth recorded child of Johann.Barney was born in 1743. He arrived in N.C. in 1763.
