I'm not sure WHEN but there seems to be info showing
them in Switzerland--15th century?--I've always understood
they went there to escape religious persecution. The name
has undergone many different spellings--Drier,Treier,
Treyer to name a few. I get engrossed in the different
stories I hear about their migration across America from
the east coast--pregnant and walking behind covered wagons,
Indian problems,ALL THE BABIES THEY HAD!!,the treatment
they received as concientious objectors, makes me proud
to descend from the Troyers--my grandmother was from
Jacob's line and my grandfather was from Andrew's line
so I got a double dose!! Millie Aldridge Morris
