Hello. Would you have any records on an Andrew Tryer/Troyer/Treyer b. Feb. 16, 1749 in Maryland and d. March 31, 1822 in Lancaster, PA? Andrew Tryer married Elizabeth Myers abt. 1777 and raised his family in Lancaster, PA. According to information on Andrew Tryer's Revolutionary War service obtained from DAR papers:
Andrew Tryer enlisted in Fredericktown, Maryland in June 1775 and served one year in Captain Price's Maryland Company; reenlisted in June 1776, served in Captain Williams' and Griffins' Companies, Colonel Rawlings' Maryland Regiment, and was captured at Fort Washington and held seven weeks and paroled January 3, 1777. He enlisted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in July 1777 and served two years as Sergeant in Captain Jacob Weaver's Company, Colonel Hampton's 10th Pennsylvania Regiment, and was in the battle of Monmouth. He enlisted in the spring of 1779 and served four months in Captain Adamson Tannehill's Company, Colonel Rawling's Maryland Regiment. He stated that he was wounded in the service, but gave no details when applying for his pension.
He was granted pension (claim S40589) September 30, 1819 at $8.00 per month.
I am having a difficult time trying to locate the birthplace in Maryland and the parents/siblings of said Andrew Tryer, my 5th great grandfather. Kathleen Frailey Puls
