I am seeking information on David TRUDEL who married Marie Philomene CORBIN, 1870 in Chicago,ILL. Her parents were Francois CORBIN and Margurite DOUVILLE. David and Marie came to Chicago from Canada in 1868 and of course all Chicago information was lost in the Chicago Fire.
David TRUDEL, b. 28 March 1847 either Quebec City or Montreal. Died 13 Feb 1925 Chicago.
Marie Philomene CORBIN, b. 25 Dec 1848, Quebec City; d. 27 Feb 1915, Chicago.
They had eight (8) known children all raised in the Catholic Church:
1. Mary Adeline, b. 28 Oct 1871
2. Albina, b. 25 Dec 1871
3. Emma, b. 1876
4. Ruth C., b. 1874
5. James, b. ?
6. Mary, b. July 1882
7. May, b. ?
8. David J., b.?

According to family tales, the TRUDEL family were ship builders.David obtained a college degree from the University of Montreal in chemestry, at age 21, and then moved to Chicago, ILL. He may have been working for the City of Chicago at the time of the great fire.
I am really stumpted for information. I have been in contact with the Trudel Family Asso., but so far they have not been able to provide any information.
Is there anyone that can help me with this family. Also, does anyone have access to the records of the Univ. of Montreal, who can look at their records to see if David did receive a degree in approx. 1868/69?

Thank you,

Bill Purcell
