Telitha Harness Elliott True

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has ever found parents for Telitha Harness b. 1854 in Texas or Tennessee or Missouri or wherever. This is kind of odd because I cannot find any census on Telitha Harness before she and James married nor after they married.. I have searched the 1860 & 1870 & 1880 census until I am nearly blind.

I did find her in the 1885 Kansas State Census where she is listed in the household of John True as his wife.

She first married James Elliott in McDonald County Missouri on February 20 1868 (See Marriage Records for McDonald County Missouri) had 2 children, Sarah Ida who married John Wesley Ballinger and William Frank who married Carrie Thompson. She then married John True on September 8 1881/1882 (See Arkansas County Marriages Index 1837-1957 & Arkansas Marriages 1851-1900) Telitha and John had 4 children, Thomas, Iva, Minnie, and Clarence. Telitha died in Clearwater Sedgwick County Kansas and is buried nest to John.

It seems rather strange to me that there is no trace of her before her marriage to James. I have tried searching for just "Telitha", "Harness-Female" all of the names that she named her children, thining maybe she named her children after her parents or a sibling, and still no luck. I am at an end here and would be VERY grateful for any help that anyone may be able to offer on this subject.

I have noticed many websites that say she was married to William Frank Elliott but have never found any source for that. The only thing I can think of is that since her first son was named William Frank, people may have assumed that her husbands name was William Frank.

Anyway---any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks-Mandy
