I too had some confusion over which Anna True married John Webster, but here's where I landed...
Based on the Greeley genealogy by George Hiram Greeley, Jacob True (1726-1766) and Anna Webster (1726-?) had 9 children. TWO of them were named Anna. The first Anna died in 1753 at the age of 4, but the second Anna was born March 1, 1758, In Salisbury, Mass. (an entry appears in the Salisbury Town Vital Records).(On an intersting side note: this same couple also had two sons named Abel, the second born after the first died.)
I believe the second Anna True (1758-?) married John Webster in Salisbury in 1784 and then had 3 children (all listed in the Salisbury VR): William (1785 - died young), Anne (1795-?) and Williamagain (1797-1882). The surviving William married Matilda Sumner and are my GGGG-grandparents.
If anybody has information that I'm wrong on the above, please post a reply!! Oh, and as for John Webster's parents, the Salisbury Vital Records shows that he is the son of "Rev. Samuel and Elisabeth Webster." The Salisbury Vital Records also state that William Webster (1797-1882) is the grandson of the late Dr. Webster, citing as proof the parish church records for the church where Samuel Webster, D.D., was pastor.
Also, any info anybody has on Matilda Sumner (abt 1800 to 1882) would be greatly appreciated!
