Connection to the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians

I would like to know how the true family is connected to the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. I have a copy of "One of Many" which is copyright Madeline Ann Merrill True, 1977. I am the Great-Grandson of Ralph Allen True, and grandson of Alvin I True.

I was told that Laura Ella Shaul, and/ or Harriet Briely/ Briley may have been the links I was looking for, but it appears that neither are them. This is because the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, according to Wikipedia, are from southwest Michigan and northeast Indiana. According to entries on RootsWeb Harriet Briely/ Briley was born in Washington-Montgomery Co., MD, and Laura Shaul's parents are from New York state, of which neither places are associated with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. Also, at this time the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians's web site appears to be down (www.pokagon.com).

It is just a myth that my family is connected to them, or is the connection somewhere else?

Thank you for your time, and thanks in advance for any helpful information!

Sincerely,
Frank Michael Lemanski
