Over the years I have gathered little bits and pieces regarding this True family. My husbands' great-great grandfather was a brother of Margaret Cretsinger the wife of Cyrus Benjamin True.

They had the following children:

Arthur Livermore True born 31Oct166 (Illinois?) died 25Sep1931 Bellingham, Washington (his gravemarker can be seen at

Edna H. born about 1868 Iowa

John A. (could be Arthur) born Oct 1869 Iowa

Louisa (named for grandmother Louisa Kimball) born 1871 Guthrie County, Iowa

Ira E. born 1874 Guthrie County, Iowa

Martha born Mar 1877 Guthrie Iowa died after 1900 possibly in California

Georgia Hathaway born Feb 1881 Guthrie County, Iowa died 31May1957 she married Harvey Edward Provence in 1902, Elk Creek, Glenn County, California

Henry born Jan 1883 Iowa died after 1900 possibly in California

Julia born 1 April 1885 quite possibly in Nebraska since this family was in Nebraksa in 1884 per a biography of Margaret Cretsinger's father she died 20Aug 1958 Techama, California. She married Al Houser

Leona born April 1888 died after 1900

California born about 1900 in California and my note indicates he died in WWI

Cyrus' father was Arthur L. True born 1804 of Grafton County, New Hampshire. His mother was Louisa Kimball born 26 Sep 1807 of Dover, New Hampshire. I don't know where they died, but I think Louisa is part of the well known Mormon Kimball family who settled in Utah, namely Heber C. Kimball not sure of the exact relation.

Here is some documentaion of Cyrus B. True that I have gathered over the years:

1860 JUN he was in Raymond, Rockingham, Indiana working as a cordwainer
1870 JUN he was in Union, Guthrie, Iowa census with wife Margarett, Arthur L., Edna H., John A. he is a farmer
1880 JUL Union, Guthrie, Iowa census farming
1884 in Nebraska as stated in the bio of John Cretsinger
1900 JUN Cavelo, Mendocino, California census; Cyrus, Martha, Georgia, Henry, Leona. - farmer

There certainly are some missing holes in this family. I would like to know exactly when and where Margaret died and where she and Cyrus are buried.
