Betty I apologize for not responding sooner.I have been doing some research in Talladega Co., and it is my opinionthat it was either Enos Truss,or Arthur Truss, both sons of Warren, Sr.,who built the house you speak of.They were the only 2 listed on the 1850 census in Talladega Co.I might even venture to guess that it might have been Arthur, because he was also there in 1840, and live very close to the town Lincoln, in thevicinity of Blue Eye Creek, just east of Lincoln. This was in Township 16S, Range 5E.But in 1850, Enos was there also, and they did not live very far apart.Arthur was born about 1809 so would have been about 30 years of age in 1850.If Warren, Jr. was there, I find no record of him.
About 35 years ago, My cousin, Mildred Dulaney, desc'd, and I were on a genealogical field trip in that area and some local people had directed us to a house just out of Lincoln that was suppose to have been built by Baker Dulaney. The house waas one of those 2 story ones wiith no porches. We could see the original wooden pegs in the floors. His mother, Priscilla Dulaney was living next door with her grandaughter in 1850, at the ripe old age of 95...Baker Dulaney's sister, Priscilla Dulaney, b 1799, was married to the Rev. James Truss, b 1799, son of Joel Truss, Rev. Sol. of Pitt Co., N.C.I wonder if this is possibly the same house.I would like to see a picture of the one you are talking about.Melba
