Hi, all... Here's what I have on John Tubbs: Descendants of John Tubb JOHN TUBB was born 1700 in Welsh, England, and died Abt. 1735. He married REBECCA CAPSHAW Abt. 1726. Notes for JOHN TUBB: The tracks of the Southern Tubb Clan start on the frontier about the 1700's in North Carolina Mountains, with a tractional 'John Tubb' that returned to England on business and was never heard from. He had left behind a wife and two sons, George and William. The 'widow' remarried and farmed out the sons to earn their keep and learn a trade. Life from children to manhood was rough but they grew up tough and each had a large family. George and William's sons fought in the Revolution and then moved their families on to some of the good Tory land that they were granted for military service. If you would like to go there some time, start at Travelers Rest in Greenville County, SC and follow Tubbs Mountain road to the top. Stop and take a good look around. At one time this was their land. John Tubb, the immigrant. According to legend John was born in England about 1700. He probably married in Virginia or North Carolina about 1726. His wife's name from a source (not documented) was Rebecca. One source also says he was returning to his family but disappear. Leading us to believe he met with foul play. Children of JOHN TUBB and REBECCA are: 2. i. GEORGE2 TUBB, b. 1727, Orange County, North Carolina; d. Mar 03, 1794, Pendleton County, South Carolina. 3. ii. WIILLIAM TUBB, b. 1729, North Carolina; d. Dec 29, 1804, Greenville County, South Carolina. Notify Administrator about this message?
