I would very much like to be able to trace the information that John Tubb of England married Rebecca Capshaw. Some researchers record that John Tubb was born abt 1700 in England and married Rebecca Capshaw (b. 1775) in the colonies -- which seems a little improbable since John would have been about 90 when Rebecca reached marriageable age. Especially since those Tubbs which are by tradition are supposed to be the sons of John were born about the late 1700's.

I am still trying to determine where the information that a Rebecca was the wife of John Tubb (b. 1700 England?) first appeared. Three sources that I have consulted -- George M. Tubb letter to his niece Maggy Tubb, the Parish book, and the book on William Marion Thomas Tubbs -- do not include this information.

Sincerely
Judy Voran
