Wanda, in looking at your posting history it looks as though you might be new in genealogy research. From my experience there are many errors in census records, and even in death certificates, especially in the place of birth information. So it is good to find as many records as possible and decide which seems to be the most apt to be correct.

Having said that, below is a link to a pilot site through the LDS church. Sometimes the site will be down for work, but it does come back up again.
Scroll down to the Texas Death Certificate information for 1900-1976. Click on that link, then in the search field fill in the surname Tucker and for Place, Johnson, Texas. You will find names that you recognize. If you put your mouse over the name you will see printed information, but it you click on the image symbol to the left of the name you will get the death certificate image.

The wife of William H. Tucker was Harriett Bracken. She was born in Alabama. Some of the death certificates for children of William H., list his birth place as Alabama, but one has it as NC. HOWEVER, luckily the birth place of one of his children is listed as Courtland, AL. Courtland is in Lawrence County AL. You can find William (sometimes seen as Bill) in the 1880 census in Lawrence Co. and his mother-in-law, Sallie Bracken, is living with them. The birth place of William H. Tucker is most often listed as South Carolina, and that does seem to be correct, based upon census records through 1900 Johnson Co. TX. The birth place of Harriett (also seen as Hattie), is consistently given as Alabama.

Even though they lived past 1900 I could not find a death certificate for Harriett or for William H. Tucker. Many early death certificates were not filed. It was not until around 1930 that most states made it mandatory, so some of the early ones are missing.

I hope this helps. Having a location in Alabama, you can probably find the Tuckers and the Brackens in earlier census records.
