Diane, after re-reading your belief that David was actually Francis - that could not be so if Francis was born in 1852, nine months after John P. Because David was in the 1850 census - two years before Francis was born. It's been a bit since I worked on this family, but I think I saw the name Eastman quite a bit in the Vermont records.
I thought I would leave Ann Colby's family for Jay and his sister to work on, so I haven't discovered her parents, but would like to know their names if you have them, please.
