I did find the 1880, 1910, and 1920 census record for what I thought was the right person. I looked deeper and found a Joseph with several children. NOw since you say his name is Jefferson I will have to start all over with. I did find Jeremiahs for 1860,1870 and 1880. I believe the first two are him but since I was unsure of his parents name I assumed. There is a Milton listed as one of his brothers so I figured this is where he got the Milton as a middle name for his son. I will go back and look some more. I forwarded these census records to Thomas Clark who asked me to help you to begin with. I can email them to you directly if you send me an email directly to my box. It is moon_rose02@yahoo.com. Reply back to that and I will send you those on Jeremiah.
