Hello all. I am a volunteer working on the Cemetery where Richard Tunks b 1780 d 1877 is buried in London Ont Canada. His second, wifes tombstone (Silvany Tunks) was stolen in 2007 and returned under cover of darkness last week. Broken, but all the pieces are there, we can repair it. We had a metal detector in the cemetery this summer, and it confirmed that Richard Tunks was indeed buried with the sword that he carried in the pennisular wars and the war of l812. The only grave in the cemetery that registered a 3ft long metal along the right side. His tombstone has engraved on it the General service medal which he recieved in the 1850s. There are many Tunks still living in London. If you have any early history on the family please forward it. We are attempting to document the families in the cemetery. Thanks David Long
