That's interesting to hear. More interesting still is that you are a TunstAll, whereas my grandad (and mum) are TunstIll. They told me it was due to a spelling error at the beginning of the 1900s on a birth certificate - and it has stuck ever since! I'm going to contact an aunt of mine who a few years ago traced our family history. She went back to c. 1830ish (I think!) and found a connection to John Tunstall and other family members who settled in America. Strange to find out that someone else shares the same fantastical story as me! I'm sure there is some truth in it somewhere - it's just hard piecing together the evidence. I will let my aunt know about this forum and see if she can shed any light on the subject...
