My Ggmr. was Elizabeth Tunstall, b.1857, prob. the Cliftons, Cumberland (Cumbria today). The family emigrated to Brantford, Ontario, Canada before 1875, and she was working as a potter there (as was my Ggfr. Dennis Burns from Ireland). As far as I have been able to trace to date, I find her father was James; the IGI has her mother as Ann, but the mother buried in Brantford was Sarah, and she had remarried to a John Omelia. I wonder if there is some connection with Alfons?
