Robert Tunstall Yorkshire England, Stokes,Littleberry, Robert, William

I am trying to find a connection between Robert Tunstall and my line with the decendants Littleberry and Merriweather Tunstall. Merriweather was born in Henrico about 1803. His father may have been Stokes Tunstall.

From the Book of First Tunstalls of Virginia there is the following comment.

"Some other very early Tunstalls have not been identified:

ROBERT TUNSTALL, age 30, a blacksmith from Yorkshire, was in 1754 and 1756 a sergeant under Colonel George Washington in the French and Indian Wars, received a land grant for that service, and died 5 Dec 1772 (Va. Mag., i.282, ii.38, v. 461, xv 17; Town Journal of Geo. Washington, 171; Pat Bk 41, p. 94). If he was from Yorkshire England, he was not one of us but one Rober Tunstall was here before 1650"
