Jill, he is my great great great grandfather and I have a little information on him. He emigrated to Australia in 1839 and became a schoolmaster teaching in Narellan which is south western Sydney. In 1852 he did a report for the governement of NSW on the schooling system and traveled extensively around the state. Around 1856 he became the headmaster at Christ Church St Lawrence in Pitt St, Sydney which still exists and is positioned across from Central Station. At this time he lived in Balmain. He died in Balmain in 1870 and was buried in Old Balmain Cemetery - the family moving the headstone to St Stephens, Camperdown in the late 1930s as the Cemetery was turned into a memorial park. Hope this helps. Peter Carney
