Richard and Cynthia Tuten
We have found another brother of John Eldred Tuten, son of Richard and Cynthia Tuten. His name is Redden J. Tuten. Land patents in Hamilton County Florida put him there at the same time as John Eldred Tuten. At least two sons of Rachel Tuten, Hampton and James R. Tuten, and maybe Rigdon Tuten are there as well. There is an Isaac Tuten that is also believed to be another son of Richard and Cynthia.
Cynthia's grave is in Waycross Ga. in the Tuten/Minchew Cemetery, she is buried next to Joseph, her son. Kisabeth Tuten, daughter of Simon Tuten, wife of Joseph Tuten is buried there as well but the gravestone is missing now.
Tabitha Tuten, granddaughter of Thompson Tuten, married Jacob Minchew who Joseph apparently sold his farm to after he became too old to farm. It is believed that Thompson Tuten is really Thomas Tuten, son of Simon Tuten. the Minchews still own the land that was the old Tuten farm.
