The Abandoned Anderson Cemetery

Buried here is Samuel Isaac Tutor b 9-8-1800, d 6-15-1872 and Lucinda Ann (Lucy Ann) Johnson Tutor, b ca 1812, d 9-10-1892. This site was located in what is now a densely wooded area, about 1-1/2 mi off Yocona Road near the Boy Scout Camp at Randolph, MS. Access is on foot or ATV down an old logging road that leads into the woods. About 10 years ago, loggers in the area unwittingly overran the unmarked graves at this site. By the time the error was realized, it was too late. New growth trees and underbrush have now engulfed this little place and all traces of the graves are gone.

Samuel's dtr, Lucy Jane married George McGregor, my great grandfather in 1865, merging these two families. ph
