Barbara, we met with some local opposition when we asked questions about this cemetery. I (believe) we may have talked to the very one who was responsible as he directed me to another local and he was downright hostile. And no my mother and I did not walk the distance. I posted what was told to me by the first person I spoke with. What really bothered me was that this individual told me "that area has been cleaned off now" which indicates that after the graves were discovered, the rest of the graves were overrun. It is my intention to mail a letter and my original post on Gen Forum to the Historical Society in Pontotoc to alert descendants about the Anderson Cemetery. I feel confident that we are the ONLY ones who know the cemetery was destroyed. Most people DO care about the graves of their ancestors and this should never have happened. Phyllis Hodum
