Hi Barbara,

I love the internet too! This is so much fun. Here's my information.

John Allen TUTOR was born on January 15, 1845 in Cumberland Co., NC. He married Nancy A. CONNELL on December 13, 1866. He served in both the Confederate and Union Armies during the War Between the States. I have copies of his Union pension applications and other correspondance with the War Department.

John A. and Nancy's son Andrew Walter was born in Pontotoc Co., MS on March 6, 1882. He married Missy WESTMORELAND around 1901. She died within a year of their marriage. He then married Francis Catherine "Fannie" COOPER(b. July 3, 1889)who was my great-grandmother. He had no living children from his marriage to Missy. They were married on February 14, 1903 by T.J. Bynum. (I'm not entirely comfortable with the marriage dates for either marriage. I'm still trying to verify them.) They had two children who reached adulthood, Bertha Elizabeth(b. January 21, 1914 and Columbus Andy (b. January 20, 1919). We have a Bible that lists the birth of Mary Ellen TUTOR on May 7, 1925. We believe she may have been a third child who died in childhood.

My grandmother was Bertha. She married my grandfather Bilbo PARRISH on March 20, 1929 in Marks, MS. They had three children, Walter Lee, Billie Jean (my mother) and Freddie. My grandmother passed away in the mid-1940's. My grandfather passed away in 1989. He still talked lovingly of my grandmother.

My grandmother and her parents are buried in Guinn Cemetary in Randolph. Uncle Columbus and his wife, Leila, had three chilren--two girls and one boy. Uncle Columbus had a heart attack and passed away in the early 1990's. Aunt Leila died a few years ago.

I apologize for overloading you with information, but my grandparents and great-grandparents were such wonderful, loving people I think everyone should have known them.
