Recap of the 2007 Tweed Reunion
The fourth annual Tweed Reunion was a rousing success in my eyes. We had 65 people sign in and about 23 who didn't for a total of about 88 people in attendance this year. There were a lot of new faces there this year, which was very exciting. The Burgner family traveled all the way from Bradenton, Florida!
In Particular, for me, it was enthralling to hear the stories told by Frank Fillers and Charles Burgner. Theey could just make history come alive for me.
Mary Etta Sane has agreed to join our committee, along with Carolyn Tweed Kelley, Diana Chesser and myself.
I would like to make a special acknowledgement to Diana Chesser. Her exhaustive research and efforts are probably the most single important element in these Tweed Reunion's becoming a reality.
I want to continue at making these Tweed Reunion's not just a success but better......an "event" looked forward to by all.
I have a couple ideas for next years reunion:
1- Purchase or rent a small p.a. system to help with the ongoing events during the reunion.
2- Make it more fun for the kids. My thinking is that if the kids have fun now, they will want to continue this as they get older, particularly after we are dead and gone, so to speak.
If ANYONE has an idea(s) that would help make this reunion better, please feel free to e-mail me (Steven Tweed) at [email protected]
Carolyn, Diana, Mary Etta and myself are sset to meet on Sept. 22 Get those eideas to me!
Any and all input is welcomed and will be given proper consideration.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Sincerely,
Steven Tweed
