Michael,

Are you still researching Eliza Twible and Hans Hamilton? You probably have all this data from civil records, but it may help someone else even if you don't need it.

Eliza Twible married Hans Hamilton, 23 May 1850, in Donaghmoyne parish, Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PRONI - Wills Calendar:

Hans Hamilton
Date Of Death: 20/04/1892
Date Of Grant: 20/01/1894
Effects 31 18s.
Registry: Armagh

Full Abstract: The Will of Hans Hamilton late of Gurteens County Monaghan Farmer who died 20 April 1892 at same place was proved at Armagh by Eliza Hamilton of Gurteens Widow the sole Executrix.

(Note that Hans Hamilton of Gorteens, Broomfield, was an Ulster Covenant signer in 1912 -- this man's son, as seen in census entry below).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1901 census - Co. Monaghan, Donaghmoyne parish - Gorteens townland:

Eliza Hamilton, 60, widow, Church of Ireland, farmer, b. Co. Monaghan
Hans (Hanls? must mean "Hans") Hamilton, son, 31, not married, farmer's son, b. Co. Monaghan
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually Eliza was either a decade or so older than she stated, or this was a second wife and not Eliza Twible who married Hans Hamilton (Sr) in 1850, since she would have been was at least about 18 years old at the time of her marriage. I think this was the one wife, Eliza Twible.

I'm researching HAMILTONS, particularly those around Broomfield, Donaghmoyne parish, Co. Monaghan. Will be glad to share further data with you.

Regards,
Annie
