I don't think Antoinette is your person. Helen Antoinette Twichell was born in 1839, married Dexter Edgar Converse in 1856, and died in 1918. They had one child - a daughter.

She had a brother who was also in Spartanburg, but he had only daughters.

Years ago (late 60s) when I was attending Brevard College, we made frequent runs over to Hendersonville. On Hwy 64 just as you got into Hendersonville was a mailbox with the name Twitchell on it. I always meant to stop, but never did. Perhaps your Miss Twitchell is from the Hendersonville group - Hendersonville and Tryon are only about 25 miles from each other.
