James Twitchell b.1814>Richland, Oswego Co., NY 1880

James Twitchell was born in Jefferson Co., NY 1814. His father was Stephen Twitchell born in Mass. James married Polly of Richland, NY b. 1815. Their children, according to Churchill ,Maria, Antoinette, Stephen, Jane, Henry C., Candace, Martha and Anna. Both Polly and James died in Pulaski, NY after the 19880 census was taken. In the census James & Polly headed a household of their children: Annette age 43, a teacher'\; Anna, age 20, a teacher and Charles G. age 14. James' parents both born in VT. Polly's father b. MA and mother b. VT.
Also on Richland, Oswego Co., NY Stephen L. Twitchell, carpenter, age 40 with wife, Martha Ann, age 34 with children: Lewis F. age 10; Ellen A. age 9; Sherman E. age 7. All b. NY.
Henry C. Twitchell was born in Oswego Co. on 28 Aug. 1845. He too was a carpenter by trade. He attended the Methodict Church. In 1861 he enlisted in the 7th NY Cav. and served 6 months. He returned to life as a Great Lakes sailor. In 1870 he married Carrie Moody, daughter of Harry and Caroline Moody of Richland. .
