Have you obtained a copy of his death certificate? If not, you can see a digitized copy of his actual death certificate -- http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?..#w=;p=2;c=1320964;t=searchable -- Just type in name, year of death 1958 and Texas. It shows his named as RODGER.
Rodger Garland White, b 1 Jan 1900, Mt Pleasant, TX; d 10 Mar 1958, ransas Pass; father James R. White; informant Wayland White.
There is more info, including his Soc Sec number. With that number you can obtain a copy of his application for a SS card. That should have the names of both of his parents.
