Hi Nita,
I grew up in Wichita Falls, TX which is in the next county north from Archer Co., TX.
There is a feed company there called Berend Brothers which I am sure is the same Berend family that you speak about.
They started out, I believe, in Windthorst, Archer Co., TX. Windthorst is a German community 11 miles east of Archer City, Archer Co., TX & about 25 miles south of Wichita Falls.
I believe that August Berend started the business & the Berend family still operates the business. If you have access to an online phone directory, you can get the phone # & address of the Berend Brothers Feed Store in Wichita or Archer county.
