HANSON-McCRARY families Pleasanton 1878

I had some family records showing that a great aunt, Nona HANSON, was born in July 1878 while the HANSON and McCRARY families were living in a wagon camp in Atascosa. I've just come across new information indicating that her first cousin, Elizabeth "Lizzie" McCRARY was born in Pleasanton in September 1878.

Would Pleasanton have had a town/city directory of some sort in 1878? If so, where could I find a copy to look up some information on my gg-grandparents, J.O. and Harriet PHILLIPS HANSON, or brother-in-law and sister of J.O., S.S. and Claudia HANSON McCRARY?

By late 1878 or early 1879, the families had settled in Tom Green Co., TX in what would later be named Water Valley, TX.
