Hi Dick,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried for years to gather information on Mary A. Pirtle-Hertz. I think she was my blood great grandmother. Mary had two sons who were adopted by William Warner Denham and his wife Mary Shaper of Goliad, Texas in the late 1880s. One son, Waitus King Denham, Sr. was my grandfather. I have the marriage document for Mary Pirtle and Isaac Hertz dated December 1880 and the adoption document for her two sons signed by Mary A. Hertz. I have not been able to find any record of Mary's death or place of burial.
