My ancestors lived in Bell County, Texas. My g-grandparents were Wm J Cathey and Amanda Kuykendall Cathey. Her parents were Simon Kuykendall and Martha Box Kuykendall. Simon died in 1864 from illness. I have a copy of his CSA records and I know that he died in the hospital in Houston, TX. Martha remarried in 1867 to R. Lockhart. She is shown as married on the 1870 census, but she is not listed on the 1880. I have a death date from postings on the Internet but can't seem to find anyone that has proof of the death date.
I need that one source of documentation on the Kuykendall family to join the DAR organization. If you can help me, I really would appreciate it.
